Providing water in the AZ heat - Day 6

This weekend, I picked up some bottled water. I have noticed a lot of corners filled with men, women and even children asking for help. I thought that providing water in the AZ heat for Day 6 is a great way to add some compassion to our everyday living.  #30days30newways  making adventure out of your everyday life.  #reawaken  compassion

Dress for Success - Day 5

Tonight I am presenting to a nonprofit that helps women get suited and gain employment. I will be sharing my life story and mission of ReAwaken. As I was speaking tonight, at Dress for Success , one of the ladies mentions that her childhood was not a good one. She is still struggling with her roots and getting over her past as a kid, her hurt and pain.  I thanked her for sharing and being so open and vulnerable to me and the entire group of women. I also reached into my toolbox and shared with her that she can rewrite her story. She can retell her past. She can  create new memories and even delete the people that hurt her.  She can go back to 5 yrs old or 7 or 12 and relive those moments. Turn them into good ones. She was very thankful and found peace that she can go back to a child and heal the little girl. I told her about EFT and even shared my personal journey with her since I have been working with  Michelle Lee CH ,  Athena Rising Now ). I gave her my ...

Honoring Vets - Day 4

Today, Tanner and I shared our appreciation by placing flowers on the graves of U.S. Vets. We joined a friend as she went to visit her mom and dad's grave. We went to the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.  #30days30newways #reawaken

Pizza. Pizza. - Day 3

Truthfully, I had another idea for Day 3 but Danny crossed our path last night and again today. As a quick fix for dinner tonight, I decided to go to our neighborhood Little Caesar's where you can get a Hot-N-Ready pizza for only $5 (cheese or pepperoni). Danny is homeless and lives near our home. Last night, he was on a corner asking for help with his dog by his side. I do recall seeing him before but seeing him twice in two days was a sign that I could not let pass me by. We decided to get two $5 pizzas and stop and talk with Danny and his dog. He was open to being on our video blog and sharing a little about his story. In fact, he said, if it will help you, I am happy to. WOW! "IF IT WILL HELP ME?!" Those were his words. These were very powerful to me. Even while Danny lives on the streets, he wants to help others. I was more than touched by his words and his openness to sharing. #30days30newways #reawaken

Princess Diana Started This Challenge!

My initial inspiration came from an amazing woman that I met years ago. She joined the half marathon team and we ran and raised money for charity. Diana Vetter is her name and she is beautiful inside and out. Here is her 30 Days Challenge:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOmIA7aoZhsr4efIyD1pTwA I encourage you all to take a look at her adventures. She has agreed to help me and anyone else who wants to do this challenge or something similar. Will you join us?

Feeling empowered - Day 2

As I said earlier, this 30 Days and 30 New Ways can be small or big. The point of this mission is to put my words into action. As I continue to develop ReAwaken , I want to demonstrate that we have a choice every day with what we choose to do. I often hear people play the victim card. One of my core principles for founding ReAwaken is to inspire Victors! These actions can be as big as you would like or as small as you would like. The point is, you make the conscious decision to choose every action, every thought and every outcome. In the beginning of this year, I declared 2014 as my year of healing. Since January, I have taken advantage of my amazing network of connections. From reiki, EFT (emotional freedom technique with Michelle Lee of Athena Rising Now ), massage and so much more that I will probably get into at a later time. I also created an online group to speak my daily affirmation, called I AM . I invite you to join me there if you wish. I want to inspire and motivate ...

It's Just Hair! Day 1

To kickoff the 30 Days and 30 New Ways , I decided to GO BIG or GO HOME! This challenge is designed to evoke inspiration and motivation. Try something new every chance you can. It can be as big as a new haircut or as small as changing up your coffee order. I am still hoarding ideas  and looking for any of you to join me on this journey. Remember, magic happens outside your comfort zone. Ok; enough waiting.  Courtney at Rolf's salon gave me this new do! Here are the inspiration photos that I showed to her and then I said, "go for it!" #30days30newways #ReAwaken

Hoarding Ideas

I have been hoarding ideas since my last post... 30 Days, 30 New Ways . Have you read it yet? A few of you chimed in. One suggestion was to hike Havasupai Falls . Yes, let's do it! But, it needs to be a weekend, ok? Another idea was to parachute from an airplane. I am all for good ideas and being daring but as a single mom of a 3 year old, my life is a lot more precious now that he is a part of it.  One friend recommended I do stand up comedy. Ok! Who is with me? Let's do it! Believe it or not, that has been on my bucket list.  Someone else suggested a new hair cut, not taking my cell phone with me for a day and even using a personal driver for a day. After some thought, I have selected a few of the above. However, I am not telling you which ones quite yet. You will have to wait. As the anticipation builds, please keep providing me with your ideas. In the meantime, I am still working on my youtube channel for this and how I will post the video blog.

30 Days, 30 New Ways

I have experienced a lot of firsts in my life. In fact, I have experienced a lot in my life. However, what I realize the most is that when I do experience new things, ideas and experiment that I am often filled with excitement. I am not bored. I am eager and anxious. I will soon invite you to join me on this adventure, called "30 Days and 30 New Ways." It will include a video blog documenting the day and the experience. In the meantime, I would love to hear what new ideas, adventures or experiences you have in store for me. Go ahead. Throw them out! Let it rip. Don't be shy! For those of you fortunate enough to know me, you know that there isn't much that I won't do (sorry, Mom!), for I believe every new experience leads us closer to the truth. The truth of living an authentic life. Is there something you have always wanted to do but haven't? Is there something you want to do with me and experience with me...like paddle boarding or volunteering at a homel...

Mom. Mama. Mommy. MA!

I celebrate Mother's Day every chance I can. Today is Mother's Day and that means there are a lot of people buying cards, chocolates, flowers and dinners. It also means a lot of women are sad and depressed for losing a child or not having the opportunity to carry a child of their own.  The little man in my life, born on August 3, 2010, has brought me so much joy. He has also brought me sleepless nights, extra pounds, double the dirty laundry and double the grocery bill. Being a single mom was certainly not the picture I painted for my family.  However, it is a picture that I am proud to hang. I am grateful for every experience my little guy brings to me. It is without a doubt that he chose me to be his mom. In fact, it is no coincidence that he has become my teacher. He teaches me to be in the moment. He teaches me to be spontaneous. He teaches me to laugh at messes and to eat off the floor. Yes, that last one is true. Ha! Don't judge!! I often share my son w...

Which will you choose? Victim vs Victor

As my journey continues, I want to ask you about your interests. Often times, I have women (and men) mention how motivated I am. People mention my positive attitude and how they love the way I tackle challenges. Many of you are participating in the  I AM group  I created on Facebook. Originally, it was designed to help me heal. I declared this year, 2014, as my year of healing. This is my year of working through my past challenges and healing the pain from previous experiences. This group has over 140 members and each day we post a positive affirmation. This is more than a daily post. It is a movement. It is a chance to choose your direction for the day. I firmly believe that we can all choose how our day progresses. We can choose to stay curled up in the fetal position or we can choose to stand confidently and choose happiness. Many times, people get stuck as the victim. If there is anything that pisses me off more than anything, it is the victim mentality. I have no ...

I've lost a lot of weight!

Life is happening and so many changes have been made. Since December 2013, the roller coaster of life has had me on a ride of a lifetime. I never stop learning. I never stop experiencing and I never stop growing. The weight I lost is not the weight you are thinking of. I have been working three jobs in addition to being a mom (to an amazing little boy), trying to date (Dating hasn't been too promising and that is a different topic for another blog entry. However, Tinder has kept me busy and entertained!) For many years and in many positions, I haven't fit in. Either I did not fit in with the culture, the position or the leadership. The signs from the Universe kept showing up more frequently and guess what...yes...the signs kept getting bigger and bigger! It wasn't until my position from my full-time job was terminated that I realized the Universe has spoken. This was by far one of the biggest signs I have received in a very long time. I was voted off the island, or ...
